Temporary rule changes for Winter 2020/21

Due to the circumstances surrounding the Winter 2020/21 season, we have made some temporary rule changes.  Please find details below, as well as by using the RULES heading above.

Normal League rule Amendment for Winter 2020/21 season
References to divisions and Divisional Controllers. Teams will be in randomly selected groups, managed by Group Controllers.
4.  The Winter season and the Summer season are separate entities.  Any promotion or relegation at the end of the Winter season will take effect at the start of the next Winter season and, similarly, for the Summer season. There will be no promotion and relegation this season.
5.  Promotion and relegation will normally take place on a 2 up, 2 down basis, based on League positions at the end of a season.  However, where the divisional structure changes in the subsequent season, it may not be possible to apply all promotions and relegations. There will be no promotion and relegation this season.
6.  In the event of Teams finishing a season with the same number of League points, League positions will be decided on the number of tables won over the season, then the number of matches won over the season, then on the head-to-head League performance between the affected Teams during the season.  Should this not successfully separate the Teams, the Committee will arrange a deciding match at a neutral venue. For the purposes of qualification for the end-of-season play-off competition, we will rank teams using win percentage, based on frames played.  You can see win percentage statistics by clicking on the Team Stats heading when viewing the league table.
53.  A minimum of 4 players shall constitute a team for the purposes of playing a League fixture. If a team has fewer than 4 players due to COVID-19 related issues, the match can proceed.
55.   The Captain of the away Team (or their representative) records their full playing team in playing order and nominates reserves where applicable. Both Captains (or their representatives) must record their full playing team in playing order.  They must clearly identify any reserves against a nominated player.  Captains must exchange these details prior to commencement of the match.  Once exchanged, no changes can be made.
57.  The Captain of the home Team (or their representative) has the preference for fixing his team.  At any point during the match, the home Captain can arrange or re-arrange the playing order of tables yet to be played. Rule suspended for this season.
71.  Where a Team requests the postponement of a match to a later week, it will have 4 League points automatically deducted.  For each subsequent postponement that the same Team requests in a season, the penalty will increase by 2 League points, with no maximum limit. We will not be penalising teams any points for requesting the postponement of a match to a later week.
72.  Postponed matches must be rearranged within 7 days of the postponement and must be played within 30 days of the original date, and the Divisional Controller informed.  The onus to rearrange the match rests with both Captains.  Neutral venues can be used. There is no requirement to rearrange postponed matches within 7 days and play them within 30 days. We simply ask that, if possible, teams rearrange fixtures wherever and whenever they can.
