8.  All finals will be played at a neutral venue.
18.  Where possible, the Committee will endeavour to place Teams that return to the Winter season after an absence in a Division that is one lower for each Winter season missed than the Division in which it last played in the Winter season.  The same principle will apply to Teams returning to the Summer season.  To be considered a returning team, the team must consist of at least 8 of the same players that played prior to the absence.

New rule designed to prevent teams that return to the League from automatically starting from the lowest division.
No previous rule.
25.  From the Monday of the third week of the season, Teams can make late amendments to their player registrations.  Any such late registrations incur a £2 fee which Teams must pay before the player can play.  For late registration fees paid by bank transfer, Teams must provide evidence of payment with their late player registration request.

Since late registrations can only play once payment is made, clarification that providing evidence of online payment is required along with the request to prevent delay in allowing the player to play.

57.  Both Captains (or their representatives) must record their full playing team in playing order.  They must clearly identify any reserves against a nominated player.  Captains must exchange these details prior to commencement of the match.  Once exchanged, Captains can make no further changes.

Change in match night protocol, whereby captains now exchange team order prior to the match.
55.  The Captain of the away Team (or their representative) records their full playing team in playing order and nominates reserves where applicable.

No previous rule.
61.  Where both Teams play with fewer than 6 players, no points will be scored for any tables that have no participants.  Where a player has no opponent, it will be awarded the two points for the table.  This must be marked on the result card.  No points will be awarded for the aggregate.

New rule to explain what happens if both teams play with fewer than 6 players.

79.  Should a postponed match not be played at all, the offending team will receive no League points for the fixture and will be disqualified from competing in the Top 4 Play-offs.  The non-offending team will receive average points, subject to a minimum of 8, calculated as follows:

  • Should the postponed match be in the first half of the season, we will award average points to the non-offending team based on its performance in the first half of the season.
  • Should the postponed match be in the second half of the season, we will award average points to the non-offending team based on its season performance up to the date of the postponed match.
